The Featured Stay
Heart of Beech Retreat
609 Beech Mountain Parkway · Beech Mountain, NC 28604
A simple, cozy mountain cabin on Beech Mountain's quiet residential slopes, close to the ski lifts, the singletrack, and the coolest summer air in the Southeast.
About the Cabin
No. 01
Honest, cozy, mountain simple
The Heart of Beech Retreat is a cabin, not a resort. It is a warm, wood-toned place to sleep, cook, and sit on the porch, on a quiet street at the top of Beech Mountain, where the air stays cool and the stars come out early.
It is owned by Justin, who spends as much time here as she can, and it is rented directly through her, so booking is a conversation, not a call center. No resort fees, no surprises, just a neighbor who will tell you which trail to take and where to eat after.
What it is not: a five-star hotel, a party house, or a place that overpromises. It is a simple, clean, comfortable mountain cabin for people who came for the mountains.

Location & wildlife
Right on the county line
Deer and other wildlife roam the area day and night, so please drive slowly and carefully on the parkway and the surrounding roads to keep our sweet wildlife safe.
Deer regularly visit the yard and graze right down by the swings.
Accessibility
Made for easy access
We did our best when selecting this very special property to be incredibly accommodating to people with mobility issues, driving access being directly off of the state run highway system means that our road is maintained before any of the other side streets, we have views of the ski slopes and one of the easiest slopes is across the street from the back of our cabin.
There is parking for three vehicles and if people want to stay with their dogs we wanted to make it a pet friendly home as we are dog lovers and being from Florida having air-conditioning throughout the house was critical, but most importantly was for our friends and family with mobility issues to have very easy transition from the paved driveway to the front porch directly into the primary living space that includes the kitchen, dining room, room, living room, laundry room, and primary bedroom with a private en suite bathroom but for entertaining the laundry room also serves as a beautiful half bathroom to serve guests so that the main level primary bedroom bathroom doesn't have to be kept in perfect condition to serve your guests.
In addition the back deck overlooks, long range, Mountain View's and Beech Mountain ski slope.
Be cleared that while it is not ADA compliant all of our family members with a variety of mobility issues have enjoyed being able to access and stay at our cabin.

Above the Clouds
Living in the clouds
On misty mornings, guests wake up above the clouds. The valley below Beech Mountain disappears under a sea of fog, and the back deck looks out over the top of it.
From the back porch
The real sunset show
No filters, no stock photos. Just the real view from the back deck at the end of the day.
These are actual sunsets guests watch from the back porch, photographed from the deck.
